Our affectionate barn cat, who worked her way into being a member of the family, had 6 very cute kittens. When we first got Chloe, she lived in the barn.  After about 6 months, she subtlety let us know that she would also like to be a house cat by hanging on the screen of the kitchen window until we let her in.  She soon spent half her time in the barn and the other half in my oldest daughter’s bedroom.  I guess it was only appropriate that Chloe snuck up the stairs and had the kittens on my daughter’s bed.
After cleaning up, we returned the mom and her kittens to the barn.  We dutifully handled the kittens every day as the vet recommended to acclimate them to humans.  Chloe then moved them to an undisclosed location to avoid our attention.  We were very worried and started a kitten hunt in the woods and all over the barn. My wife remembered an old trick and meowed like a kitten and Chloe ran to look behind some old doors leaned against a wall of the barn.  Sure enough they were there.
Every day is an adventure at the Crisp Ranch.
