We get excited by architecture, but nothing gets our hearts pounding like baby lambs on the way. At about 10:00 o’clock last night, I noticed on our lamb cam that our ewe was about to give birth and let my wife know. That began a mad dash my wife made through the snow up to our barn, which is about a hundred yards uphill from our house. Next, my son and oldest daughter ran up the hill with me trailing behind. Both lambs and Oregano, the ewe, were happy and healthy with a little assistance from the shepherdess, my wife.
Mo, our Bernese Mountain Dog, quickly went from a cute little puppy to a 90-pound lap dog that will not say no to a request for affection. She is keeping me and all the other dogs young, especially Oliver, our Border Collie.
Of course, we have too many dogs, but in for a penny in for a pound.
