Patio With Pergola

Patio with Pergola

Although I have a soft spot in my heart for porches, there are times I prefer to sit on our patio which is right off the kitchen.  Sometimes new homes and renovations we design only have porches or only patios but often we include both.  An open patio does not protect you from the rain, but it does offer more light and views of the sky.  The addition of pergolas creates the feel of enclosure while adding protection from the sun.
