Rodger And Marley

Rodger and Marley

It has been a fun journey from a pile of wood to the final touches, as my new front door was installed by Roger Manley, the builder.  The door knocker is very special to me since it came from the Writer’s Cottage of William Styron, the author of Sophie’s Choice.  Two of my favorite clients gave it to me when I commented about its quirkiness during a site meeting.

I remember my first visit the Rodger’s workshop and meeting the partridge that had taken up residence.

We couldn’t be more pleased with our new door. It has the same weight and feel as our 200-year-old door on the other end of the hall. If you would like to follow the full progress from beginning to end, the blogs in order are: My New Front Door and the Partridge, The Partridge Flew the Coop, But the Door Must Go On, and Our New Door is Approaching the Finish Line.

We had the pleasure of working with Rodger Manley of Manley Woodworking, who built the door, Tyler Irish of North Ridge Painting, who painted the door, and we used paints by Fine Paints of Europe and bought the Rocky Mountain Hardware from Canaan Distributors.
