Ethel the Newborn Lamb
It was a bitterly cold Saturday morning, and I had just sat down to drink coffee and watch the news while my wife checked the Lambcam in the barn on her phone. She then yells from the couch, “We have a new lamb!”. So we all race up the hill to the barn after quickly dressing for the windy 20-degree temperatures. As we passed the outdoor pen, we heard something like the cry of a baby lamb. My wife ran into the pen, found a tiny lamb under the ramp to the barn, and fished it out. As my son joined her in the barn, caring for the two lambs, I started getting water for the rest of the sheep. Then I heard another cry, and sure enough, there was another lamb even further under the outdoor ramp. So Winnie was a proud mother of three healthy lambs despite the cold.

Dolly, who was born a couple of months ago, has been growing like a weed. She is almost as tall as the rest of the sheep.d

The chickens are not laying as much as they normally do when it is warm. We still have enough eggs to pay for the armed guards patrolling the chicken coop.

Number Seven-The Last One
The lambs kept coming, and now we have seven! We have so many we are running out of old sweaters to cut up for warming tubes.
