We have worked on designs of all sizes. Small additions are often part of a larger project, but a compact solution is sometimes best for the available space, budget, and needs. A very efficient design that still accomplishes all of the client’s needs can be challenging but a lot of fun. When working on any very efficient design, it is important to distill the layout down to the most essential elements and then find a way to keep it from feeling too tight. We have the same need to pay close attention to details, proportions, and function as with a large project.
Small projects are just as important to us as our most extensive designs; they happen in a smaller space.
Adding a small porch to a home can make a huge difference in how the home lives. That porch becomes a place to socialize with friends and a place of solitude when a bit of quiet is needed. My own porch is a great example of where I go for both quiet contemplation and family fun.
An upgraded half bath can be a fun small project with limitless possibilities.

Lovely. So glad you’re showing the beauty of small spaces.
The most elegant and charming room I’ve ever been in was quite small – in a 1600’s inn on a small Danish island. People often think that the larger, the better in room size. And that only white adds light. Not so. It’s the scale / proportion of floor square footage to ceiling height which are most important. And I prefer the thoughtfulness of my light to be framed and filtered. Also, small spaces – created “nooks” within a larger space are quite special and add much to its beauty and livability. They create a special, designated spot of purpose and happiness!
Thank you. We enjoy them too!
I agree completely.
