Mary'S Lamb

Mary’s Lamb

We waited a long time for our ewes, Mary and Lucrecia to give birth, and they did not disappoint.  Mary had the one ewe lamb while my wife was away visiting colleges with our daughter.  My son and I filled in for her with him taking the lead, being a seasoned 4-H member.  We had to wait a couple of weeks for Lucrecia to finally give birth and she surprised us with one ewe lamb and two ram lambs!  Fortunately for me, my wife was in town, and after the first two came, she waited and eventually the third lamb was born.  The rest of my family was up until after 1:00am making sure the lamb figured out how to eat properly and her mom was taking good care.  Of course, we are very happy with the new additions to the Crisp ranch.

The rest of the animals are doing fine, especially Chole who is taking the winter off from barn duty and is in charge of guarding the couch.
