Painted Island

Painted Island

White kitchens are the perfect backdrop to add splashes of color.  As much as I love white cabinets in a kitchen, it is the color around them that emphasizes the bright simplicity of monochrome woodwork.  There are many ways to introduce color to a kitchen including painting some or all of the cabinets a color, adding color to the walls, selecting colorful appliances or tiles, and easiest of all, hanging colorful artwork in the kitchen.  Countertops, kitchen floors, draperies, and lighting fixtures can also introduce interesting colors and textures to an otherwise all white space.

So if you are looking to add a splash of color to your home, you might want to start in your favorite room-the kitchen.
