Our ewe, Wendy, finally gave birth to two ewe lambs. Unfortunately, we missed the exciting birth drama since we were dropping our eldest daughter off at a summer internship in Newport. Thank goodness for family, friends and our vet. I would like to thank Pam Ferris, my mother-in-law, Katie, (Zoe), Ferris, my sister-in-law, (Who took off work from Zoe’s Ice Cream Barn on one of the busiest weekends of the year), Emily Lyon, (Woof & Hoof Pet Service), who only signed on to feed the sheep but helped tremendously, and Dr. Gillian Ferguson who saved the lambs when they were stuck and could not come out.
My wife would have packed up and headed back in the middle of the night if we had let her. Only the fact that the sheep were in such good hands kept her from leaving us in Newport.
I picked one of the lambs up this morning, she was so cute and cuddly, it’s hard to put her down.
