Building or renovating a home in the winter can be a challenge.  For the people doing the work, it is more difficult and sometimes dangerous. Over the course of my career in the northeast, winters have become milder but more unpredictable.  We sometimes see temperatures go from -5 degrees on a Monday to 60 degrees on a Thursday and vice-versa.  This fluctuation can make working surfaces a sheet of ice or the job site a mud pit.  On the positive side, warmer weather makes building in winter possible.
