As part of an ongoing series, we would like to tip our hats to other professionals who make us look good. The line is often blurred between the work of architects and interior designers. The way we design homes, at Crisp Architects, is collaborative within the office as well as collaborative with our clients and other professionals. Our motto is “a good idea is a good idea, no matter where it comes from”.
Our best projects often include interior designers, as well as landscape architects, and sometimes theater consultants, lighting designers, and sound engineers. As with everything in life, advice from talented professionals can make the difference between a good project and a great one. To that point, here are a few of our favorite interior designers and projects we were lucky enough to collaborate on.
Morrissey Saypol Interiors is a boutique interior design firm led by Elizabeth Brush Saypol and Elise Morrissey. They hail from Manhattan and Stamford, CT. Their projects range from Palm Beach to Boston and everything in between. Their designs span, style wise, from contemporary to traditional while always keeping their clients’ aesthetic in mind. The project shown is an extensive addition and renovation we worked on together in Stamford, CT.
Amy Aidinis Hirsch Interiors is an award winning firm based in Greenwich, CT doing work across the country. Amy and her team research the history and context of each project. In her words, “We undertake every design project as a guide and curator for our client, researching and seeking out the most innovative, vibrant treatments and finishes that will be the best possible fit for our client’s home.” The project shown is an extensive renovation we worked together on in Rye, NY.
Rebecca Brandon’s home base is in Central, Florida. Her completed projects extend from Vero Beach, FL. to the Bahamas, Sun Valley, Idaho, to New York City, and North Carolina to the Berkshires. Rebecca is a full service interior designer who tailors her projects to meet her client’s expectations and lifestyle. The project shown is a large new home in Connecticut which we worked on together.
Schnell Interiors, LLC., located in Danbury, CT, is headed up by Pierrette Schnell, but everyone calls her PC. She has a regional based firm, but has designed projects from Florida to her native country, Canada. PC is a perfectionist, and worked as a designer for many years at Waterworks, helping clients with their bathrooms, kitchens, and all manner of plumbing and tile selections. She works on projects from modest to grand with the same philosophy, ‘Always respectful of clients’ budget, in selection and design of materials, furnishings and accessories while searching for the best design solution’.
