Zoe’s Ice Cream Barn
I normally don’t get too excited about the average new business opening near my home town, but this one is different. It is not every day that your own family opens up a new ice cream store!
Yes, Zoe’s Ice Cream Barn is opening this May and the owner/proprietors are Katie (Zoe) Ferris, my sister-in-law (my wife’s youngest sister), and Bob Ferris, my father-in-law. Katie graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and has managed an ice cream store for many years. Bob has always wanted to build on a piece of property he owned in LaGrangeville, NY. So they teamed up.
Bob and the whole Ferris family have grown up on farms and they still have a working farm about a mile from my house. It was natural that the ice cream store would have a farm theme. Their designer, Greg Sheridan from Kent CT, did a great job on the building (Crisp Architects does not design commercial buildings or work for family). This ice cream store has been in the planning stage for a long time. Katie (Zoe) has been handing out free samples at our home show for several years.

PLEASE ADVISE EXACTLY WHERE THE ICE CREAM BARN IS. I KNOW ADAM’S ON RT. 55. IS IT NEAR THERE. WHAT ARE SITES I CAN LOOK FOR WHEN DRIVING ON 55?
The address is 1181 Route 55 in Lagrangeville. Adams is not on route 55 it is on route 44 in Poughkeepsie. Zoe’s ice cream barn is between Arlington high school and the daily planet restaurant on 55.
