If a person’s eyes are the window to their souls, windows in a home give expression to the character and soul of that home.  Windows can be simple and utilitarian, they can focus attention on a special view, or they can dominate a wall.  When I say window I mean windows, doors, transoms, and walls of windows.  I live in an old home which has very regular simple windows.  I love them.  In my living room we have 12 over 12 windows from the 1800’s.  In our bedroom dormers we have 6 over 6 windows.

Special windows in a home give it character(as do many features in a home).  The most important elements a great window or door combination give a home is light and views, not to mention air.  A creative window or door combination is adamantly more expensive than a simple window, but in the right circumstances it is well worth the money.
