Curved Porch With Fireplace

Curved Porch With Fireplace

Cool evenings in October draw me out onto my porch.  We have an area heater which extends the season both in the Spring and the Fall.  Many of our clients who want to enjoy those edge of season days and nights outdoors ask us to design an outdoor fireplace. Once they start using it, they find that the ambiance of an outdoor wood burning fireplace can be a lot of fun year around.  We have heard of great marshmallow parties in the dead of winter.

In many ways, the design of an outdoor fireplace is similar to an interior fireplace.  We always recommend that home owners install either a fine mesh screen to prevent any loss of embers or glass or metal doors to contain the fire at the end of the evening.

There is nothing like the glow of a crackling fire at sunset to help celebrate the beginning of Autumn.
