Herding Cattle

Herding Cattle

Few events rival the excitement leading up to the arrival of a new puppy.  We will soon be picking up our, (my daughter’s), Border Collie from a Pennsylvania farm family-the Freys, who own Frey’s Livestock Supply.  Our puppy’s parents are true working dogs, herding cattle on a daily basis.  Our sheep don’t know about the change that is about to happen on our mini-farm.

I would like to thank Nancy Frey for the great photos she let me use, and I am told that there are additional puppies available just in case anyone is interested in a Border Collie of their own.

Otherwise, we are all happy to finally have some sun peeking through.  The lambs are growing like weeds.

I don’t know much about sheep, but when it comes to holding lambs, my wife does not have to ask me twice.  There is nothing like the soft fleece on a Romney lamb.  Even though he did not like the shot, I did not mind holding him.

I have been a fan of your work for sometime. But now! I’m really smitten! I raise Romney sheep as well. I am a handspinner. Enjoy your new pup! They are a handful:)

Romneys are pretty great sheep. I’m just the farm hand.
